01 · Why we exist

Our Mission

We believe AI assistants should actually do things on your computer, not just talk about doing things. WindOp was born from frustration with chatbots that could describe file changes but couldn't make them, that could suggest commands but couldn't run them.

WindOp is a true Windows operator — it gives AI real hands on your PC. Organize files, automate tasks, run PowerShell commands, control your desktop — all through natural conversation. Built natively for Windows with Rust and Tauri v2 for speed and reliability.

02 · Trust

Why Privacy Matters

An AI that controls your Windows PC needs to be trustworthy. That's why file, shell, and desktop actions run on your machine, and risky ones ask for your approval first. Your PC, your rules.

On the free plan you bring your own API key, so your prompts go straight to the AI provider you choose, not through WindOp's servers. The app can share anonymous usage analytics tied to a random install ID (never your chats), and you can switch that off in Settings. Pro and Team tiers route AI through WindOp's managed service, so we process those requests and monitor service health to keep cloud features running. See the privacy policy for the full details.
