Unknown Projects Is an LLC Now. WindOp Isn't Done. The Future Is Bigger Than We Let On.

We just made it official.

Unknown Projects is a limited liability company now.

If you found WindOp, you have been using our flagship product. What you may not know is that WindOp has a parent — a small, stubborn software company in York, Pennsylvania called Unknown Projects, founded on March 17, 2023 by two people with a shared belief that ambitious software should actually ship.

This week, that company formally became Unknown Projects LLC, with the EIN confirmed on August 28, 2026. It is a signature on paperwork. It is also the line between a hobby and a company.

Here is the thing — the paperwork is the least interesting part of the story. Let us back up.

Who is Unknown Projects?

Unknown Projects has been building software for over 3 years — more than 20 projects across apps, automation, Discord bots, game server systems, and client web work. Two people lead it:

• Pedro Torres — Co-Founder & CEO. Company formation, compliance, operations, and the business systems that let the work grow responsibly.
• Zachary Gladfelter — Co-Founder & CTO. All product engineering across WindOp, client builds, automation, and infrastructure.

The company runs on a simple discipline: proof lives in the product. We do not just recommend software practices to clients — we use them on products with real users, real infrastructure, and real stakes. That is how two flagship products exist today: WindOp and Just Curves, an inclusive, safety-first dating platform built around mutual messaging and human moderation.

Alongside our own products, we build production-ready websites for real businesses — trucking, home services, automotive detailing, care services — through a client practice that holds itself to the same standard as the products we own.

What an LLC actually changes

For years, Unknown Projects operated informally. The work was real. The clients were real. The products were real. The company was not.

Becoming an LLC changes the structure, and the structure matters:

• Legal separation. The company is now its own entity, distinct from the people behind it. Products, clients, and contracts belong to the company.
• Credibility. Clients, partners, and future collaborators can rely on a formal entity — contracts, agreements, and accountable ownership of the things we ship.
• A platform to build on. The boring machinery — banking, invoicing, compliance — is what lets two flagship products keep growing for years without getting tangled in informal arrangements.

To be clear about what it does not change: the products, the roadmap, and the standards. WindOp remains free to download, works with 300+ AI models through OpenRouter, and stays BYOK — your API keys, your usage, your control.

What this means for WindOp

Here is what users actually care about: does this change WindOp?

It changes it in the right direction.

• WindOp is a product of Unknown Projects LLC. Real company, real accountability, long-term support you can point at an entity instead of a Discord handle.
• Development continues, full speed. The next major update is deep in development — a computer-use layer that operates the Windows desktop carefully, deeper observability into token usage and cost, and a serious security audit of the Tauri and integration layers.
• The free core stays free. The LLC gives us a durable structure to grow a paid tier on top of a free core — the sustainable model, not the subscription trap.
• Just Curves gets the same foundation. Our dating platform moves toward its public launch on the same formal footing.

If you have been waiting for a sign that WindOp has long-term legs — this is that sign. The entity exists precisely so we can keep shipping for years, not months.

WindOp is not done. That was never the plan.

Six weeks ago we wrote "WindOp v0.2.54 Launched in May. The Next Update Is Still Being Built." That post ended with a line: v0.2.54 is not the finish line. It is the foundation for what comes next.

That is still true. The next update is still being built — the structured computer-use integration layer, cost and token observability, and a hardened Tauri capability layer are all in active development, and they are the largest investment in the product's history.

And there is more that we are not announcing yet. Not vague "big things coming" fog — concrete work, already funded and scheduled, that we will announce when it is ready to show.

What we can say:

• The next major WindOp update is the largest single investment in the product's history.
• A paid Pro tier is on the roadmap for Q4 2026, on top of a permanently free core.
• Just Curves is heading toward public launch.
• The company now has the legal structure to sign real partnerships, take investment, and scale both products.

The bottom line

Unknown Projects started as two people building software because it was fun and it was good. It is now an LLC with two flagship products, a client practice, and a roadmap that makes the last three years look like a warm-up.

WindOp is not done. Unknown Projects is just getting started. And the future ahead is bigger than we have let on — until now.
