WindOp has always remembered things about you. Now you can see them.

Memory is the feature people ask about most, and until now it was a black box. v0.3.0 opens it up. Go to Settings → Behavior → Memory and you can see what WindOp remembers, add a note yourself, and remove anything you don't want it to keep.

If you use encrypted sync between devices, there's a safety net too: when the same memory note changes on two devices, sync keeps both versions instead of quietly picking one. New sync passphrases now need at least 12 characters.

It starts faster and costs less per step

The first chat and Settings open noticeably faster, and coming back to Chats keeps your place. Under the hood, smaller prompts and better caching make each step of a task cheaper and quicker. We measured this before shipping rather than hoping.

Routines that tell you when they were late

A routine that silently didn't run is worse than one that never existed. WindOp now tells you which routines ran late or were skipped while it was closed.

On Windows there's also an option to start WindOp hidden in the tray when a routine is due. It's off by default (Settings → Behavior → General), and it won't wake a sleeping PC on its own.

The small things that add up

  • A reasoning control beside the model picker: Auto, Off or a level, remembered per model.
  • Long chats compact themselves. Set "Compact at", or type /compress.
  • Search inside chats, a draft per chat, and an optional spending limit per chat.
  • Claude Code chats can see images, and Claude Code and Codex chats use your WindOp memory.
  • Approve risky actions from Discord, with approval rules per app.
  • Let Claude Code, Codex or Cursor use WindOp's tools. It's off by default.
  • First-run setup now shows whether Claude Code and Codex are installed and helps you sign in.
  • Computer control can copy from one app and paste into another, and it keeps your clipboard image.
  • You can edit a project's name and goal, and the goal now reaches the AI even for folder projects.

Release notes inside the app

After an update, WindOp now shows what's new once, and you can reopen it any time from Settings → Behavior → General or the command palette. No more hunting for a changelog page. (It's also on the changelog.)

Mac: signed now, not notarized yet

Both the Apple Silicon and Intel builds are on the download page, and they're now signed with our Apple Developer ID. They aren't notarized by Apple yet, so the first launch still needs one step: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Notarization is next on the roadmap.

On Mac we also fixed the emergency stop (⌃⌥Esc) and ⌘M minimizing again.

Let's be real about one more thing. While testing this release we found that the Intel Mac build from v0.2.55 and v0.2.56 was missing a system library path and could fail to launch with a "Library not loaded" error. That's fixed in v0.3.0. If you tried WindOp on an Intel Mac and it wouldn't open, please try again.

How to update

WindOp offers the update itself. Or grab it from the download page. Last time around we added Mac and WindOp credits and then opened WindOp Pro to everyone. This release is about trust: seeing what WindOp knows, and knowing what it did while you weren't looking.
