WindOp is free to use with your own AI key. Pro adds hosted AI and encrypted cloud sync (preview) — so you can skip key management entirely.

Signing in

Open SettingsAccount and sign in. Your current access — local free mode with your own key, or WindOp credits — is shown there. You can also sign in during first-run setup.

Who pays for AI?

Your own key

Requests go straight to OpenRouter and you pay them. WindOp's servers are not involved.

WindOp credits

Requests route through WindOp and draw from your monthly allowance first, then any credit packs you bought. That covers every AI feature: chat and agents, image generation and analysis, video, text-to-speech and library embeddings. Video needs at least $1 of credit to start a render.

Credit packs are separate from the recurring allowance. You can buy any whole-dollar amount from $5 (up to $500 per purchase) in SettingsBilling or at windop.app/account/credits, and purchased credits never expire. Managed usage is charged at the provider's reported cost plus a 20% service fee. Use Refresh WindOp balance in Account to update the number you see.

Billing

  • SettingsBilling shows your plan, allowance, and packs, and starts checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.
  • Your website account at windop.app/account shows credits, activity, and billing history too. Activity labels each charge by feature (chat, image, video, speech, embeddings); text-to-speech and unfinished videos show as Finalising until the provider confirms the exact cost.

Cloud sync

With Pro, SettingsSync lets you choose what to sync: settings, themes, memory, MCP server configs, chat folders, model favorites and project bookmarks. Chat history is not synced. The first time, you choose a sync passphrase; enter the same passphrase on your other devices. Data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device before upload, and API keys, tokens and MCP secrets are never synced. WindOp can't reset a lost passphrase. Sync is in preview. If a subscription lapses

WindOp falls back to bring-your-own-key mode. Your local data is unaffected.
